We’ve all heard of the ‘no shopping new challenge’ and one of the biggest positives is saving money. And who doesn’t love to save money 🙋🏼♀️
First things, first........decide on how long you will challenge yourself. It can be for a week, one month or an entire year.
Then give your wardrobe an honest assessment (before you start your challenge). How many clothes do you really own? Make sure you count them........take everything out of your wardrobe, drawers, boxes. It’s gonna be scary. 🙀

A capsule wardrobe is a collection of essential & timeless clothing items. The pieces can be mix-matched well with other pieces and accessorised with seasonal pieces.
You will need rules if you want to learn how to stop new shopping!
Here are some to think about:
1 – Underwear & socks. If you NEED underwear, you can go & buy what is needed. When I gave my wardrobe an assessment I sorted my underwear out of the ones I no longer liked or fitted & gave them to a recycling company that creates them into new items.
2 – Shop thrift & consignment stores first.
If you NEED something, shop thrift & consignment stores first & only after being unsuccessful can you can shop regular retail. Be very strict with yourself. Only buy something new if you really need it. If you can borrow, thrift or rent something for a one-time event, then do that before buying something new.
3 - Declutter your inbox from retailer emails
To succeed in your no new shopping challenge, you need to remove the temptations. One easy way to do this is to declutter your email inbox from retailer emails.
In the beginning, you will see those cute seasonal clothes being thrown at you everywhere. Stay strong, & avoid retailers at all costs.
If you slip up & buy new clothes during your no new shopping challenge, don’t give up the challenge altogether. Think about why you slipped up & use the list we have provided to help you keep on the challenge.
