I was asked this question a couple of days ago from someone who has never had a weight problem & was also a lot shorter than me & when I told her I was a size 14-16 (the same size as her), she couldnโt believe I could be.โฃ
โฃ
So I did some more research to find out what is considered plus size in Australia. ๐โฃ
โฃ
The average size of Australian women is size 14-16 (Iโm average ๐๐๐ป) & according to the information I found, โplus size garmentsโ are considered to be size 16 & upward.โฃ
โฃ
Which means the average Aussie woman is bordering on plus size. Yet, the average Aussie retail store starts at a size 6/8 and doesnโt go higher than a 14?.?.? โฃ

No wonder majority of us women have a hard time trying to find clothes that will fit. We have dedicated brands for women who are larger than the size average & thats a minimal amount.โฃ
โฃ
The Australian plus-size clothing market has been growing since at least 1994,..............its 2021 now & we still havenโt moved forward when it comes to the curvier lady. โฃ
โฃ
We notice the difference with different brands with the clothes we resell. With the inconsistency of measurements itโs why we measure every item individually & not just show the sizing guide from that particular brand.โฃ
